Sunday, January 16
Today I met with Mitch and Dessa and we discussed what we would do for the next week. I filled out our syllabus and decided that we would look for interviewees, find music, images, and sound effects. We found some music from the French Revolution and listened to that as we talked.
Monday, January 17
I went with Mitch to the library and we found 3 really good books about the French Revolution. Maximilian Robespierre was mentioned a lot in every book, and we looked them up. This was good to find out some basic information about him.
Tuesday, January 18
Although I missed class today because of my orthodontist appointment, I still was able to get some work done. I found some places in Viault where Maximilian was mentioned to further acquaint myself with him.
Wednesday, January 19
Today I went on google and found 5 very useful images that are labeled for reuse of Max. They will be good to use the Ken Burns effect on while someone is speaking during our video.
Thursday, January 20
I really didn't have much time today to do anything sufficient with the whole seated dinner/art gallery thing. Although I did talk to Mitchell and did some planning. So it wasn't a complete failure of a day.
Friday, January 21
I found a really useful website on Max that is a concise biography of him. Mitchell also showed me a short description of him by a Yale professor and I read through that. We will probably meet this weekend to discuss our future plans.
Sunday, January 23
Mitch, Dessa and I met as a group today to discuss our plan for the next week. We decided that we would start to compile our information together so we can figure out how our documentary will go.
Monday, January 24
Dessa and I discussed what we would do for the project today. I left and began the documentary on my computer by adding all the images I have found and experimented with the Ken Burns effect. These will be perfect, we just need speech to add on top of these pictures.
Tuesday, January 25
I didn't get much done today, but I have started to think about how our video will be organized.
Wednesday, January 26
I found another great book that will guide my research. The book is "Twelve Who Ruled", and has a perfect description of his personality. It says "Robespierre had the fault of a self-righteous and introverted man".
Thursday, January 27
We met today as a group and discussed how our documentary would go. We decided that we should start in the action of Max being executed, and continue chronologically from there. We also asked Mrs. Lambert if we could interview her and she agreed to do it sometime in the next week. She also recommended that we talk to Mrs. Hinkle because she majored in French as well. We are deciding what questions to ask Dr. Rezzo too.
Friday, January 28
I did some research in the library, using the books available there. I was unable to find much because people have already checked out most of the useful books on the French Revolution. So, I went back to the "Twelve who ruled book".
Saturday, January 29
Mitch, Dessa, and I went to the library during out work period and did a little bit of research. Unable to find much in the library, we went online and made sure we knew everything we needed to know about Max. We began scripting the first scene too.
Sunday, January 30 I did some finishing research online and began scripting the next scene. It will be easier to know what to say once we have our interview footage, which we will get this week. I also met with Mitch after study hall to discuss this week's plans.
Monday, January 31
We set up an interview with Mrs. Lambert on Wednesday during our work period and an interview with Mrs. Hinkle for Tuesday at 2:00. We are also talking to Mr. Buddy about doing an interview this week. We also shot some footage out by the chapel of Dessa's "walk and talk" and recorded some voice for the introduction of the video.
Tuesday, February 1
I began to edit what we have in our video by adding music and rearranging things. I met with the group to write questions for the interview tomorrow.
Wednesday, February 2
Today we interviewed Mrs. Hinkle. We did it in the conference room of the library and it went pretty well. She gave us a good minute or two of good footage that we can use.
Thursday, February 3
We met in my room to work on Dessa's walk and talk script. We decided exactly how and where it will go, and scripted it out. Also, we interviewed Mrs. Lambert after dinner tonight and it went really well. Mrs. Lambert is very good with words, and is a lively person in general. She knew a fair amount even though it has been some time since she learned the material.
Friday, February 4
We went to my room and finished scripting the first part of Dessa's walk and talk. We also wrote something that Mitch will record later. Finally, we discussed what we would do next week.
Tuesday, February 8
Again, we went to my room and got some good work done. We recorded Mitch's voice thing and did some edits with music and pictures. We decided that we will film the walk and talk tomorrow after chapel.
Wednesday, February 9
We were unable to film today because Dessa and Mitch both had things to do during the advisor time. But, we are filming 100% tomorrow before chapel. We are going to re-film the first part and film the second part. Mitch and I scripted out the entire thing today. Also, we scripted another voice recording that Mitch will read. After that, we finalized the order of the first half of the documentary. We also looked through our interviews to find useful clips and decided where to put them in the film.
Thursday, February 10
Today we got a good amount of filming done. We filmed before chapel started for a good while and it is almost perfect. This footage should last about 30 seconds. We then came back to my room to watch and assess the footage, and to do some editing. Tomorrow we will probably film again.
Friday, February 11
Dessa and I met during our break to do some more filming of his walk and talk. We filmed in the chapel and after a while, got a useful shot. We went back to put it on my computer after. Also, Mitch and I met tonight to edit and continue scripting. We found good interview footage, recorded some new segments, and edited.
Saturday, February 12
We met in my room during our work period and recorded some voice, scripted, and edited. Then, after classes, we met for a few hours to continue working. I kept working on the project for the rest of the night.
Sunday, February 13
Today we literally worked all day. From 11 am to midnight we were all diligently working; filming, editing, recording, scripting, typing, printing, burning, etc... Yeah. We are DONE!
